Lets Celebrate Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti 2016

India achieved freedom from the clutches of British with a lot of struggle and hardship. It won't have been possible without the visionary leadership of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or simply Mahatma Gandhi. It is his inovative tool called Satyagraha, that he gifted to world a new methodology to fight against injustice, which helped to achieve independence for India with such ease. So a day to remember such a vital character in Indias freedom is worthwhile. So as a tribute to such a legend, his birth anniversary is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti.Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 to a Hindu Modh Baniya family in Porbandar, the small princely state of Porbandar in the Kathiawar Agency of the Indian Empire. Mahatma is also referred as Father of the Nation for the priceless contribution for the country. He led the entire country to freedom from the glitches of slavery. He used the novel tools like Satyagraha (truth), Ahinsa (non-violence) which worked out miracles not only in India but also across the world. He also fought for Harijan welfare, small-scale industries and self-reliance and rehabilitation of lepers. His selfless work and love for the people made him the most trusted personality. Gandhi Ji used to say that be happy in whatever you have as there is no end of desire and if you run behind anything, it will sink you in the sea of uncertainty and darkness. Gandhi ji was also instrumental in setting up the Sabarmati Ashram at Ahmedabad. The United Nations' (UN) International Day of Non-Violence is also held on October 2 each year to coincide with Mahatma Gandhi's birthday.Across India Gandhi Jayanti is a official declared national holiday. It is celebrated accross India with plumb and joy. Gandhiji is remembered and his services is remembered. Three locations in India play important roles in the celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. These are:
  1. The Martyr's Column at the Gandhi Smriti in New Dehli where Mahatma Gandhi was shot on January 30, 1948.
  1. The Raj Ghat on the banks of the river Yamuna in New Dehli where Mahatma Gandhi's body was cremated on January 31, 1948.
  1. The Triveni Sangam where the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati come together near Allahabad.
His favorite devotional song, Ragupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Pavan Sita Ram, Sita Ram Sita Ram, Bhaj Pyare tu Sitaram, Ishwar Allah tero naam, Sab Ko Sanmati de Bhagvwan, is sung by the people in various public gathering and prayer meets on the day of Gandhi Jayanti. Bunches of flowers or flower garlands are placed on many statues of Mahatma Gandhi throughout India. Celebrate Mexican Independence day 2016

Independence Day is one of the most patriotic day across the world. Its a day to remember the blessings and boons showered upon the citizens by their motherland. The Mexican Independence Day falls on  September 16. Its celebrated with great glory across the country. It was the day in which the war that led to the country’s independence began and started a revolt against the Spaniards. Finally, the independence of Mexico was achieved on September 27, 1821.

It all began when Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a priest, uttered what is called the “Grito de Dolores” or “Cry of Dolores,” from the small town of Dolores near Guanajuato and the essence of the message was to encourage Mexicans to free themselves, recover the stolen lands byfrom the Spaniards and defend their rights. In the early morning of September 16, 1810, Hidalgo ordered the church bells to be rung and gathered his congregation where he addressed the people in front of his church, encouraging them to revolt. The Siege of Guanajuato, the first major engagement of the insurgency, occurred 4 days later. Hence, since October 1825, the anniversary of the event is celebrated as Mexican Independence Day. Also since the late 20th century, Hidalgo y Costilla’s "cry of independence" has become emblematic of Mexican independence.

The celebrations begin on the night of September 15 and carry on to the next day. In Mexico City, thousands congregate in the Zócalo, or main square, on the night of the 15th to hear the President ring the same bell that Hidalgo did and recite the Grito de Dolores. Mexicans celebrate this with fireworks, parties, food, dance and music. Flags, flowers and decorations in the colors of the Mexican flag – red, white and green – are seen in public areas in cities and towns in Mexico. Whistles and horns are blown and confetti is thrown to celebrate this festive occasion. "Viva Mexico" or "Viva la independencia” are shouted amidst the crowds on this day.

Eid Al Adha Festival 2016 HD images

Eid al-Adha today is one of the two most important festivals in the Muslim calendar observed and celebrated worldwide other being Eid al-Fitr. But its considered to be holier of the two festivals. It is also known as "Sacrifice Feast" or "Bakr-Eid". Eid al-Adha is celebrated annually on the 10th day of the 12th and the last Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah of the lunar Islamic calendar. Eid al-Adha celebrations start after the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide. The date is approximately 70 days (2 Months and 10 days) after the end of the month of Ramadan. Ritual observance of the holiday lasts until sunset of the 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah.

Eid al-Adha is celebrated by Muslims to mark the occasion when Allah (God) appeared to Ibrahim in a dream and asked him to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, to demonstrate his devotion to the Almighty.
Ignoring the advice of the Shaitan (Devil) , he drove Satan away by throwing pebbles at him, who tried to tempt Ibrahim into disobeying God by saying he should spare Ishmael. Ibrahim was about to press ahead with the sacrifice before Allah sends his angel, Jibra’il, to inform Ibrahim that he has already accepted the sacrifice and gave him a lamb to kill instead. The story is designed to demonstrate how Ibrahim's devotion passed even the sternest test with ease.

Arafat Day is the second day of the annual haj . The holiday takes place the day before the start of Eid Al Adha. At dawn, Muslim pilgrims make their way from Mina to a nearby hillside called Mount Arafat and a plain called the Plain of Arafat. Goats, lambs, known as aḍḥiya, are sacrificed as part of religious celebration on Eid al-Adha and the sacrificed meat is divided into three parts: one part for the family, one part for relatives, and one part for the poor. Most muslims make a special effort to pray and listen to a sermon at a mosque. They also wear new clothes, visit family members and friends is a part and parcel of the festival. In the period around Eid al-Adha, many Muslims travel to Mecca and the surrounding area in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

This year Eid al-Adha falls on 11 September 2016 and 12 September 2016.
